City Palace Liechtenstein, Baroque palace in downtown Vienna, Austria

The City Palace Liechtenstein features ornate stucco ceilings, neo-Rococo interiors, and fine parquet flooring crafted by Michael Thonet throughout its grand rooms.

Construction began in 1691 under Dominik Andreas Graf Kaunitz, with Prince Johann Adam Andreas I of Liechtenstein completing the first monumental Baroque portal in 1694.

The palace houses significant artworks from the Biedermeier period within the Princely Collections, representing five centuries of European art history.

Access to the palace is exclusively through pre-booked guided tours, which allow visitors to explore the restored staterooms and private art collection.

The palace incorporated advanced 19th-century technologies, including a four-floor elevator, internal communication systems, and hot air heating within wall panels.
