Santuario de la Virgen del Remedio, Religious sanctuary in El Remediu, Spain.
The sanctuary features a Latin cross layout with a rectangular presbytery and vaulted ceilings decorated with star patterns throughout the structure.
Construction began between 1591 and 1592 after Archpriest Bartolomé Álvarez initiated the project following his recovery from kidney stones at the old hermitage.
The sanctuary celebrates its main festival on August 15th, marking the culmination of community celebrations that begin several days earlier.
The building maintains regular visiting hours, opening from 9:00 to 14:00 and 16:00 to 19:00 in winter, with extended evening hours during summer months.
Building materials for the sanctuary reportedly came from a monastery located between El Corralón and San Román de Sariego or from Villaviciosa.
