Bruce's Mill Conservation Area

Bruce's Mill Conservation Area encompasses 108 hectares of land with wetlands, deciduous forests, coniferous forests, and mixed woodland sections throughout the property.

The Metropolitan Toronto and Region Conservation Authority purchased 52.6 hectares of land in 1961, establishing Bruce's Mill Conservation Area with existing buildings and roads.

The Sugarbush Maple Syrup Festival, running since 1966, demonstrates traditional and modern maple syrup production methods while celebrating Canadian heritage.

The conservation area opens from mid-April to Thanksgiving weekend, offering free weekday admission and maintaining multiple recreational facilities including hiking trails and a BMX track.

The York Regional Police operates a Community Safety Village within the conservation area, teaching children about fire safety, traffic rules, and personal protection.
