Lutherkirche, Gothic Revival church in Johannapark, Leipzig, Germany
The Lutherkirche stands at the northwestern end of Johannapark, featuring a Latin cross floor plan and dark-stained oak wood furnishings throughout its interior.
Construction of the Lutherkirche began in 1884 under architect Julius Zeißig, with a total cost of 225,000 Marks and consecration ceremonies in April 1886.
The church contains a hexagonal baptismal font crafted from sandstone and Rochlitzer porphyry, along with elaborate Neo-Gothic decorative elements within its sanctuary.
Located at Ferdinand-Lassalle-Straße 25 in Leipzig, the church provides 900 seats and includes an elevator for accessibility to all visitors.
The pulpit displays intricate carvings of the four evangelists with their symbols: bull, lion, angel, and eagle, created by sculptor Franz Schneider in 1886.
