Württemberg, Historic paddle steamer in Magdeburg, Germany
The MS Württemberg paddle steamer extends 63.8 meters in length and features two paddle wheels measuring 3.52 meters in diameter.
Built in 1909 at Roßlauer Schiffswerft, this tugboat operated on the Elbe River until 1974 when it was relocated to the Elbwiesen near Stadthalle Magdeburg.
The vessel now functions as a museum ship, preserving maritime heritage and educating visitors about early 20th-century river navigation technology.
Visitors can explore the museum facilities and enjoy meals at the onboard restaurant, which reopened in 2006 following renovations after flood damage.
The tugboat maintains its original two-cylinder compound engine with 625 PS power output, demonstrating the engineering capabilities of early 1900s shipbuilding.
