Stiftskirche St. Peter

The Stiftskirche St. Peter features twin baroque towers reaching 60 meters in height, with three naves and intricate pillar arcades throughout the structure.

Construction of the current building began in 1479 as a Gothic basilica, following documentation of the first parish church in Waldsee dating back to 851.

The church contains a remarkable high altar created in 1712 by Dominikus Zimmermann, measuring 11 meters in height and featuring the Marienkrönung sculpture.

Regular church services take place in this active Roman Catholic parish church, which belongs to the pastoral care unit of the Diocese of Rottenburg-Stuttgart.

The organ, built by Reiser Orgelbau in 1964, incorporates parts from an 1853 Carl Gottlieb Weigle instrument and features 41 registers across three manuals.
