Pont d'Aragó, Heritage bridge in Valencia, Spain.
The Puente de Aragón spans 167 meters across the Turia riverbed, connecting Plaza Zaragoza and Paseo de la Alameda with Gran Vía Marqués del Turia.
Engineers Arturo Monfort, José Burguera, and Gabriel Leyda constructed this concrete bridge between 1926 and 1933, replacing the need for steep access ramps.
Four stone sculptures by José Terencio Farré adorn the bridge corners, depicting Fame, a Farmer, a Fisherman, and Valencia, each with the city shield beneath.
The 30-meter wide structure includes a central hedge and side roads, with iron columns originally designed to support tram cables and public lighting.
The farmer sculpture was modeled after a local resident known as 'el frare,' whose physical appearance matched the intended character representation.
