Man'yō Botanical Garden

The Man'yō Botanical Garden contains numerous plant species mentioned in classical Japanese poetry, arranged across landscaped grounds with informational displays and walking paths.

Established in June 1989, this garden represents a modern interpretation of plants documented in the Man'yōshū anthology from the Nara period of Japanese history.

Each plant section features accompanying verses from the Man'yōshū poetry collection, connecting visitors to Japan's literary traditions through living botanical specimens.

The garden maintains regular hours from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM daily, with an entrance fee of 500 yen and convenient access from nearby bus routes 70 and 97.

The garden's tea house, Ninai Jaya, serves traditional dishes including green rice porridge and kakinoha sushi wrapped in persimmon leaves.
