Korekawa Archaeological Institution

The Korekawa Archaeological Institution displays artifacts excavated from nearby sites, including tools, pottery, and figurines from the Jomon period.

The Korekawa Site contains settlement remains from 3000 to 1000 BC, with three main locations: Hotta, Ichioji, and Nakai sites on the Niida River terrace.

The museum exhibits a collection of 330 items designated as Important Cultural Properties, featuring a National Treasure clay figurine of a seated man.

The institution operates daily from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM except Mondays, offering free general admission and specialized guided tours through a pocket curator app.

Excavations revealed red lacquered wooden vessels and tools, demonstrating systematic lacquer production techniques during the prehistoric Jomon period.
