Raigō-ji, Buddhist temple in Matsusaka, Japan

The main worship hall of Raigō-ji contains three wooden statues depicting the Medicine Buddha, Amida Buddha, and Gautama Buddha from the Fujiwara period.

Established in 835 as a training ground for Buddhist hymns by Jigaku Daishi, Raigō-ji was transformed into a temple in 1109 by Ryōnin.

The temple developed into a center for Buddhist chanting practices, with 49 monks' quarters established during the early Kamakura period.

The temple maintains its original structures, including the main hall restored in 1533, a bell tower, and multiple shrines within the grounds.

The mausoleum of Ryōnin, constructed in 1132, takes the form of a three-story pagoda and holds status as an Important Cultural Property.
