Arkadia

Arkadia is a village in central Poland featuring an English Garden Park that blends traditional rural architecture with landscaped green spaces. The park contains several structures including the Temple of Diana, the Gothic House, and Sybil's Grotto, along with a Roman aqueduct set among tree-covered grounds.

Princess Helena Radziwiłł founded the English Garden Park in 1779, enlisting designers Szymon Bogumil Zug and Henryk Ittar to shape the landscape. Their collaboration created a distinctive garden design that continues to define the village.

The Temple of Diana displays a collection of Roman sculptures and funerary monuments from different periods, shaping how visitors experience the site. These artworks sit alongside natural features and create a dialogue between ancient culture and 18th-century romantic design.

The site sits east of Łowicz and connects through local roads and public transportation options. Visitors should wear comfortable shoes since exploring the park involves walking across different areas.

The Gothic House overlooks Sybil's Grotto, creating a deliberate architectural composition within the park. This arrangement shows how the original designer consciously planned sight lines and spatial relationships between different structures.
