Joseph's Tomb, Funerary structure in Balata al-Balad, West Bank
The white stone monument stands at the eastern entrance of the valley between Mount Gerizim and Mount Ebal near Nablus city.
Dating to medieval times, the tomb received recognition from Benjamin of Tudela, a Jewish traveler who documented the sepulcher during the 12th century.
The structure holds religious importance for multiple faiths, serving as the second holiest site for Samaritans and a pilgrimage destination for Jews and Muslims.
Visitors require coordinated security arrangements through authorities to access the site, as entrance depends on current regional conditions.
The tomb underwent renovation between 2009 and 2010, receiving a new cupola and structural improvements to preserve its architectural elements.
