St David's Hospital, Grade II* listed Victorian hospital in Carmarthen, United Kingdom.
The vast Italianate complex spans three stories with local stone walls, Bath stone dressings, and inner brick construction on a hilltop west of Carmarthen.
Established in 1865 as Carmarthenshire, Cardigan and Pembrokeshire County Asylum, the institution was designed by architect David Brandon to accommodate 212 patients initially.
The hospital name evolved from Counties Lunatic Asylum to Joint Counties Mental Hospital and finally St David's Hospital, reflecting changes in mental health perceptions.
The facility included separate men's and women's wards, workshops, exercise yards, water towers, and a gas works to maintain operational independence.
The hospital chapel, constructed between 1883 and 1889, features multicolored polychrome glazed bricks and was built entirely by the hospital patients.
