Twin Bridges-East Paden Covered Bridge No. 120, Historic covered bridge in Columbia County, United States.
Twin Bridges-East Paden Covered Bridge No. 120 is a wooden structure that crosses Huntington Creek with a metal roof protecting the wooden frame. The interior uses a Burr Truss design that combines arched supports with kingpost beams for stability.
Built in 1850 by Peter Ent, it served as one of many crossings in the region designed to handle the creek's water flow. The bridge earned its place on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.
The bridge shows how builders in the 1800s combined wood and engineering skill to create crossings that lasted for generations. Walking through it today lets you see the craftsmanship that kept communities connected.
The bridge is accessible from Pennsylvania Route 371 south of Catawissa and provides a direct crossing over the creek valley. It remains open to vehicle traffic, though drivers should expect a slower pace on the wooden deck compared to standard roads.
After severe flooding in 2006 destroyed the original structure, an identical replacement was rebuilt and dedicated in 2008. This reconstruction effort showed how much the community valued keeping this historic crossing intact.
