Old Chapel, Historic chapel at University of Massachusetts, Amherst, USA.
The granite Old Chapel features a prominent tower with rounded arches, clock face, and 44 carillon bells above the Richardson Romanesque structure.
Worcester architect Stephen C. Earle designed this building in 1884, which was constructed at a cost of 25,000 dollars and completed in 1887.
The structure functions as a gathering space for students, hosting lectures, theatrical productions, banquets, and various academic ceremonies throughout the year.
The renovated facility includes a Great Hall, multi-purpose room, catering kitchen, and meeting spaces with full accessibility through a glass pavilion entrance.
The building earned LEED Gold certification after extensive renovations that integrated modern systems while maintaining the original architectural elements.
