Blair Bridge, Railroad bridge across Missouri River between Blair, Nebraska and Iowa, United States.
The Blair Bridge consists of three 330-foot trusses supported by stone piers, spanning 1,000 feet across the Missouri River at a height of 50 feet.
The Sioux City & Pacific Railroad Company constructed the original Blair Bridge in 1883, replacing a steam ferry that transported train cars across the river.
The bridge strengthened the economic connections between Nebraska and Iowa communities, establishing a permanent transportation link for goods and passengers.
Located at coordinates 41°33′04″N and 96°05′44″W, the Blair Bridge continues to serve as a primary railroad crossing point for the Union Pacific Railroad.
During the floods of 2011, this railroad bridge remained one of the only available crossings between Omaha and Sioux City for essential transportation.
