Cima d’Asta, Mountain summit in Trentino, Italy.
The granite peak of Cima d'Asta rises to 2,847 meters, marking the highest point of the Fiemme Mountains in eastern Trentino province.
The mountain served as a triangulation point since 1816, with mountaineer Gustav Euringer making the first documented recreational ascent in 1882.
The mountain forms part of an area where traditional alpine farmhouses called masi represent the mountain agricultural heritage of Trentino.
The hiking trail spans 13.9 kilometers with an elevation gain of 1,030 meters, requiring approximately six hours to reach the summit from Malga Sorgazza.
The mountain sits near Lago di Cima d'Asta, a high-altitude lake at 2,460 meters that serves as the source of the Grigno river.
