Wagner Covered Bridge No. 19, Historic covered bridge in Columbia County, Pennsylvania, United States
Wagner Covered Bridge No. 19 is a wooden bridge crossing the North Branch of Roaring Creek with a Queen Post Truss frame structure. The span measures about 56 feet long and features a metal roof that was added during its recent reconstruction.
The bridge was originally built in 1856 in Locust Township and later dismantled in 1981 for storage at Knoebels Amusement Resort. It was reconstructed at its current location in the Foxtail housing development in 1994.
The bridge represents nineteenth-century American engineering methods, showcasing traditional wooden construction techniques that characterized early transportation infrastructure in Pennsylvania.
The bridge sits at the entrance to the Foxtail housing development in Hemlock Township, west of Bloomsburg. You can walk up to it and view it from the surrounding area without special arrangements.
This bridge belongs to a group of 28 historic covered bridges across Columbia and Montour Counties that gained National Register recognition in 1979. The area preserves one of the densest networks of such structures in the eastern United States.
