Saints Peter and Paul Church, Gothic Revival church in East Liberty, Pittsburgh, United States
The church features two 200-foot towers flanking the central nave, with side aisles extending 170 feet in length and 60 feet in width.
Built between 1890 and 1891, the church underwent reconstruction in 1910 after a lightning strike caused a devastating fire in August 1909.
The German Catholic parish served 1,500 attendees at its peak, reflecting the strong European immigrant presence in Pittsburgh during the late 19th century.
The building stands vacant since 1992, with East Liberty Development exploring a $15 million renovation project to create a multi-purpose events space.
The church gained recognition as the filming location for the final scene of the 1999 film Dogma, directed by Kevin Smith.
