Seven Springs

Seven Springs features seven natural freshwater springs that flow year-round through a dark tunnel into a small artificial lake surrounded by lush pine and plane trees creating a cool oasis.

The tunnel connecting the springs to the lake was constructed by Italian forces during their occupation of Rhodes between 1920-1931, taking eleven years to complete at 150 meters long and 13 meters deep.

Local folklore attributes healing properties to the spring waters, and the site remains an important resource for nearby communities while serving as a symbol of human engineering harmonizing with nature.

Visitors should wear appropriate hiking and water shoes as the tunnel passage involves walking through flowing water, and the site is accessible by car with parking available near the entrance.

The 186-meter tunnel passage through complete darkness while wading through cold spring water offers an adventurous experience that combines natural wonder with historical engineering achievement.
