Chapel of Saint Colette of Corbie

This Art Deco chapel features brick construction with three ogival bays, six abstract stained glass windows creating soft colored interior lighting, and an ogival portal adorned with a sculpted medallion representing Saint Colette.

Built between 1938 and 1959 on the site of Saint Colette's birthplace after the original house was destroyed during World War I bombardments in 1918, the chapel's construction was interrupted by World War II and resumed after 1945.

The chapel serves as a pilgrimage destination for devotees of Saint Colette, housing ancient relics and an old statue of the saint while hosting annual religious celebrations in March during her feast day.

Located at 36 rue Faidherbe in Corbie, the chapel remains open daily from 9 AM to 7 PM, with group visits coordinated through Les Amis de Sainte Colette association at 03 60 01 25 72.

The chapel stands as the only Art Deco religious building in Corbie constructed specifically on a saint's exact birthplace, making it a rare architectural and spiritual convergence point in the Hauts-de-France region.
