The summit reaches an elevation of 2659 meters in the Pyrenees mountains and stands near the Port d'Envalira mountain pass.

The mountain pass near Pic d'Envalira served as a critical crossing point between France and Andorra for commercial exchanges since medieval times.

Local shepherds maintain traditional grazing practices on the mountain slopes during summer months, following centuries-old Pyrenean customs.

Access to the summit requires a 2.2-kilometer ascent from Port d'Envalira, with specialized 4x4 vehicles necessary due to the unpaved terrain.

The summit presents a gradient reaching 18.2 percent, making it one of the steepest vehicle-accessible mountain roads in the Pyrenees.
