People's Bike Library of Portland, Steel and gold leaf sculpture in downtown Portland, United States

The People's Bike Library stands 17 feet tall with a spiral pillar topped by a gold-plated bicycle, functioning as both art and bicycle storage.

Created in 2009 by Brian Borrello and Rankin Renwick, this installation replaced an informal bike-sharing system known as the Holy Rack at Southwest 10th Avenue.

The sculpture represents Portland's cycling community through its connection to Zoobomb, where cyclists gather for weekly downhill rides from the Oregon Zoo.

The metal structure includes multiple loops serving as hooks for securing bicycles, making it a functional public bike storage facility in downtown Portland.

Local students participate in annual design contests to create bike lane art near the sculpture, with winning designs installed permanently on Portland streets.
