The Hl. Georg church features traditional Austrian architectural elements with a plain exterior and detailed interior frescoes by regional artists.
Originally built in 1515 under Emperor Maximilian's commission, the church was destroyed in a fire in 1772 and rebuilt, receiving consecration in 1780.
The church maintains its position as the second largest village church in Tyrol, serving as a central point for religious ceremonies and community gatherings.
Regular church services occur on Tuesdays from 08:00 to 10:00 and Thursdays from 17:00 to 19:00, with additional times during religious celebrations.
The cemetery contains the grave of Franz Senn, the Alpine Association co-founder known as the 'Glacier Parson' who influenced mountain tourism development.
