Prince's Square, Heritage listed park in Launceston, Tasmania.

The 1.25-hectare Prince's Square features symmetrical pathways, ornamental gardens, and the central Val d'Osne Fountain surrounded by mature trees and grassy areas.

Originally a clay pit supplying bricks for local construction between 1824 and 1828, the site transformed into a parade ground in 1843 before becoming a public park.

The square hosts regular community gatherings and celebrations, while five churches around its perimeter reflect the religious heritage of Launceston's early settlement.

Located in the South-Central Business District, Prince's Square provides public amenities including toilets, drinking fountains, and multiple entry points from surrounding streets.

The Val d'Osne Fountain, purchased from the 1855 Paris Industrial Exhibition, commemorates the completion of Launceston's first municipal water supply system.
