Burg Neuhaus, Medieval castle in Föritztal, Germany
The stone castle features a round tower rising above thick walls, with architectural elements characteristic of 13th-century German fortifications.
The lords of Schaumberg constructed Burg Neuhaus in 1315, which later came under the control of the Henneberg family in 1317.
The castle museum displays medieval weapons, models of the original fortress, and artifacts illustrating daily life during the Middle Ages.
The Friends of Burg Neuhaus Association organizes guided tours, educational programs for schools, and maintains the 48-square-meter museum exhibition.
Swedish forces used the castle as a supply depot in 1632, before troops from Kronach destroyed it in 1634 as retaliation.
