St. Aegidius, Gothic Revival parish church in Bad Salzig, Germany

St. Aegidius stands on a hill southwest of Bad Salzig's former village center, with its main entrance accessible through a long stairway from the north.

The first chapel on this site dates back to 1275, when Archbishop Heinrich II of Finstingen documented its dedication to Saint Giles.

The church features stone sculptures on its northwestern exterior wall depicting Jesus and three apostles in the Mount of Olives scene.

The church continues to function as a religious center for Catholic services while maintaining its status as a cultural heritage monument in Rhineland-Palatinate.

The church organ, installed in 1715, originated from the Benedictine Abbey of Marienberg before being transferred to St. Aegidius.
