Feldkirche

The late Romanesque stone basilica stands 50 meters above the Rhine valley, featuring thick walls and rounded arches characteristic of medieval architecture.

Built between 1150 and 1200, the church replaced an earlier wooden structure and became Protestant during the religious reformation of the 16th century.

The church houses abstract stained glass windows created by artist Georg Meistermann, integrating modern art into the medieval structure.

Located at Feldkircher Straße 8 in Neuwied, the church accommodates 200 people and maintains regular Protestant services throughout the year.

The church complex includes a historic court site with an ancient linden tree, a cemetery dating to the 7th century, and a 19th-century rectory.
