Herz-Jesu-Kirche, Gothic Revival Catholic church in Geestemünde, Germany
The Herz-Jesu-Kirche stands with red brick walls, featuring a 55-meter bell tower and pointed arches that demonstrate Gothic Revival architectural elements.
Built between 1910 and 1911, the church emerged from a 60,000 Goldmark donation by an anonymous benefactor who requested its dedication to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
The church maintains an active schedule of religious services, community gatherings, and seasonal celebrations that follow the Catholic liturgical calendar throughout the year.
Located near Bremerhaven's central station, between Bucht and Grashoffstraße, the church contains a modern organ installed in 1974 with electro-pneumatic register controls.
The church survived World War II without major damage despite extensive bombing in Bremerhaven, and received foundation stabilization through concrete piles in 1990.
