Schloss Baumgarten, Heritage castle in Dietersburg, Germany.
The castle follows an irregular polygon layout with arcades surrounding a rectangular inner courtyard, featuring a dominant square tower in the northwest corner.
First documented in 1338, the castle belonged to the Herren von Baumgarten family before passing through several noble families including the Counts of Hals.
The Catholic Castle Church of Saint Bartholomew, constructed in 1796, stands east of the castle entrance and displays late Baroque architectural elements.
The castle complex includes multiple preserved structures, including a shell fountain from the 18th century and a garden wall built between 1800 and 1899.
Michael Wening's 1721 engraving reveals two distinct structures: the church with its characteristic bulbous turret and the main defensive castle building.
