The first written record of the church dates to 1340, mentioning altar donations, suggesting the construction began around 1300 on earlier foundations.
The church interior contains a late Gothic sacristy cabinet from the 15th century and a bronze baptismal stand from the 18th century.
From Pentecost until Harvest Festival, the church hosts organ music events every Friday during market time, welcoming visitors and locals.
The church ceiling once featured 70 portrait paintings, which were discovered during roof repairs in 1989 after being hidden for generations.
