Kirche St. Zeno, Romanesque church in Bad Reichenhall, Germany
The St. Zeno Church stands as the largest Romanesque church in Old Bavaria, measuring 90 meters in length with a 48-meter-high tower.
The construction of St. Zeno Church began in 1136 as an Augustinian monastery, taking 80 years to complete during the Staufer period.
The church displays late Gothic elements including catechism panels in the vestibule, an intricately carved pulpit, choir stalls, and a baptismal font.
The church complex includes the Maria Ward Girls' School of the Archdiocese of Munich and Freising, located at Salzburger Strasse 22.
The high altar receives direct sunlight through the large rose window at 3:00 PM on Christmas Day, creating natural illumination.
