The Government House, constructed between 1955 and 1960, served as residence for the Minister of Northern Greece until its transfer to the Greek Royal Family in 1963.
The mansion hosted numerous governmental receptions and a notable exhibition of Caravaggio paintings during Thessaloniki's European Capital of Culture celebrations in 1997.
The grounds remain accessible through nearby parks and wooded areas, offering views of Thessaloniki, though the building itself requires substantial renovation work.
Prime Minister and later President Konstantinos Karamanlis regularly used this residence during official visits to Macedonia until operations ceased in 2006.
