The Grotte du Mas-d'Azil extends 500 meters through a limestone massif, featuring a monumental entrance 51 meters high and 48 meters wide.

Archaeological excavations reveal human occupation spanning 20,000 years, with discoveries of tools, weapons, and more than 1,300 painted pebbles from prehistoric times.

The cave contains numerous engravings and paintings depicting bison, horses, and geometric patterns, representing the artistic expressions of early human inhabitants.
