Château d'Yville, 18th-century castle in Yville-sur-Seine, France

Château d'Yville is an 18th-century castle featuring classical French architecture that combines stone with brick elements throughout its design. The building extends along its garden side and displays the refined construction style typical of that period.

The castle was designed according to plans by François Mansart, with architect Jean-Jacques Martinet completing the construction work in the early 18th century. The building reflects the architectural ideals of that time.

The gardens surrounding the castle display traditional French formal design with hedged patterns and plant varieties typical to Normandy. You can see how nature here is arranged in geometric forms and reflects the tastes of its era.

The castle sits on the left bank of the Seine, positioned southwest of Rouen in Normandy. Access is available by way of local roads that wind through the region.

During World War II, the castle served as a military command post and witnessed the military events of that era. This episode left deep marks in the history of the place.
