Château d'Anet, Renaissance château in Anet, France

The château features three distinct courtyards with a central Cour d'honneur, incorporating architectural elements from both Gothic and Renaissance periods throughout its structure.

King Henry II commissioned architect Philibert de l'Orme to construct this château between 1547 and 1552 as a residence for Diane de Poitiers.

The exterior decorations include two statues of Diana the Huntress by Jean Goujon and a bronze relief by Benvenuto Cellini above the main entrance.

Located less than 70 kilometers from Paris in the Eure-et-Loir department, the château opens its furnished rooms to visitors throughout the year.

The château contains one of France's first Italianate parterre gardens, designed by Jacques Mollet, who influenced the development of royal French garden design.
