Château d'Igé, Medieval castle in Igé, France.

The castle stands as a quadrilateral structure with three circular towers on its southern facade, surrounded by a moat crossed by stone bridges.

During the French Revolution in 1789, villagers of Igé raided the castle, marking the start of a peasant uprising in the Mâconnais region.

The castle represents traditional Burgundian architecture with features including vaulted ceilings, period fireplaces, and authentic terracotta floor tiles from the region.

Located 15 minutes from Mâcon and Cluny, 60 minutes from Lyon, the castle operates as a four-star hotel with 10 rooms and 7 suites.

The castle grounds include a 4-hectare park containing a spring, rose garden, stream, small bridge, and orchard with centuries-old trees.
