Pont de l'Université, Metal arch bridge over Rhône River in Lyon, France.

The Pont de l'Université extends 267 meters across the Rhône River with three spans supported by stone piers from Porcieu-Amblagnieu quarries.

German forces destroyed the central arch of the bridge during their withdrawal in September 1944, leading to its reconstruction and reopening in 1947.

The bridge connects the educational district with cast iron balustrades featuring French Republic insignias, laurel leaves, and fleur de lis decorations.

Pedestrians, cyclists, and vehicles share the 20-meter wide deck that links Quai du Docteur-Gailleton to Quai Claude-Bernard across the Rhône.

Original lampposts from 1903 remain on the bridge, while the metal components were manufactured in the foundries of Longwy in northeastern France.
