Unité d'habitation in Firminy-Vert

The Unité d'Habitation stretches 130 meters in length, rises 50 meters high across 20 levels, and contains 414 apartments of various sizes.

Construction began in 1965 under Le Corbusier's supervision, but following his death that year, architect André Wogenscky completed the project in 1967.

The building represents Le Corbusier's vision of vertical city living, incorporating residential spaces with educational facilities and community areas throughout the structure.

Seven interior streets provide access to apartments ranging from 25 to 113 square meters, accommodating approximately 900 residents within the complex.

The structure stands on distinctive pillars that create a covered recreational area beneath, while the facade displays red and blue accents inside the loggias.
