Roche du Feu, Mountain summit in Gouézec, France
Located in the Black Mountains, Roche du Feu reaches an elevation of 281 meters and provides views over the Aulne Valley and Douarnenez Bay.
The summit functioned as a strategic lookout point during Viking invasions, where fires were lit to warn surrounding communities of approaching threats.
The site carries the name Karreg an Tan in the Breton language, reflecting the local linguistic heritage and its significance in regional geography.
A 5.4-kilometer hiking loop starts from Gouézec town hall and ascends to the summit, passing by a water tower along the route.
From the peak, visitors can spot 33 church steeples within a 40-kilometer radius during clear weather conditions.
