Puig de l'Estela

Puig de l'Estela reaches an elevation of 1715 meters and stands between the municipalities of Cortsaví, La Bastida, and Vallmanya in the French Pyrenees.

The summit played a crucial role in the late 18th century measurement project to determine the length of a meter using triangulation points from Dunkirk to Barcelona.

The peak holds a position in the official list of 100 notable summits recognized by the Federation of Hiking Entities of Catalonia under the name Puig de l'Estella.

The mountain serves as a natural boundary marker between three distinct French regions: Conflent to the northwest, Vallespir to the south, and Rosselló to the northeast.
