Puig de Coma d'Or

Rising to 2826 meters, Puig de la Coma d'Or features distinct rock formations and provides views over the Eastern Pyrenees, Ariège, Catalonia, and Andorra.

The mountain gained recognition through its inclusion in the FEEC100 list, establishing its status among notable peaks in the Franco-Spanish border region.

The summit connects three French municipalities: Angoustrine, Villeneuve-des-Escaldes, and Mérens-les-Vals, representing a geographical intersection of regional communities.

The ascent from Col de Puymorens covers 12 kilometers with 900 meters elevation gain, requiring approximately 5 hours for a complete round trip.

Near the summit, hikers encounter the Estany de Coma d'Or lake, which reflects the surrounding peaks during clear weather conditions.
