École d'architecture de Nanterre, Abandoned architecture school in Nanterre, France

The steel structure stands on stilts, featuring modern architectural elements with large metal frameworks and expansive glass surfaces throughout the building complex.

Constructed in 1970 by architect Jacques Kalisz, the school operated as an architectural education center until its closure in 2005.

The institution trained numerous French architects through innovative teaching methods and collaborative spaces designed specifically for architectural studies.

The building remains inaccessible behind security fences while discussions continue between the state and local authorities regarding its future.

A 2012 proposal to transform the structure into an international cooking school by chef Alain Ducasse was rejected despite a 6 million euro offer.
