Adjara, Autonomous republic in southwestern Georgia

Ajaria spans 2,883 square kilometers between the Black Sea and Turkey, featuring mountain ranges reaching heights of 2,800 meters and subtropical coastal zones.

The region transformed from an Ottoman territory to Russian control in 1878, later becoming an autonomous republic within Georgia following the dissolution of the Soviet Union.

The population of 333,953 residents includes Georgians and Ajars, who maintain traditional agricultural practices focused on tea cultivation and subtropical fruit production.

The capital city Batumi contains the Constitutional Court of Georgia and operates direct transportation connections to Tbilisi through rail, road, and air routes.
