St. George's Cathedral, Anglican cathedral in Georgetown, Guyana.

St. George's Cathedral is a wooden cathedral in Georgetown, Guyana, featuring white exterior walls and Gothic Revival architecture. The structure reaches approximately 43 meters in height and was designed by British architect Arthur Blomfield.

The foundation stone was laid in 1889, and construction took about a decade until completion in 1899. Its building reflects late 19th-century British ecclesiastical architecture.

The cathedral is the principal Anglican place of worship in Guyana, reflecting British religious influence in the region. People gather here for services and mark important life events within its walls.

The building is located on Church Street and remains open to visitors throughout the week. Guided interior tours are available, and regular worship services are held.

This wooden church stands as the tallest wooden building of its kind in South America and holds Tentative World Heritage Site status. The combination of its height, material, and architectural sophistication makes it extraordinary among religious structures in the region.
