Ness Ziona, City in Central District, Israel

Ness Tziona extends across 15.5 square kilometers between Rishon LeZion and Rehovot, maintaining its low-rise urban layout with buildings under eight stories.

The settlement originated in 1883 when Reuben Lehrer purchased land from German Templer Gustav Reisler and established the initial Jewish community in the area.

The name stems from Jeremiah 4:6, chosen in 1891 when Michael Halperin raised a flag with the Star of David at the settlement's center.

The city connects to major transportation routes through two primary roads and multiple Egged bus lines, serving its population of over 50,000 residents.

The Israel Institute for Biological Research operates within Ness Tziona's boundaries, contributing to the city's scientific research capabilities.
