Jangaon mandal

Jangaon Mandal extends across the eastern Deccan plateau at an elevation of 382 meters, containing both urban settlements and rural villages.

The administrative region underwent multiple territorial changes since 1854, when it was initially part of Bhonagheer Circars under the name Zungaon.

The population of 92,446 residents maintains Telugu as the primary language, with traditional governance structures including municipal and panchayat systems.

The mandal consists of Jangaon Municipality and 19 Panchayat villages, serving as a center for local administration and public services.

The region reports a balanced demographic distribution with 56.7 percent urban dwellers and 43.3 percent rural inhabitants according to the 2011 census.
