Basilica del Beato Angelo d'Acri

The Basilica del Beato Angelo d'Acri stands at 734 meters elevation with two symmetrical bell towers and a central dome reaching 32 meters high.

Construction of the basilica began on May 11, 1893, following architect Guido Quercioli's design, and the building was inaugurated on July 17, 1898.

The bronze entrance door weighs 54 tons and displays the seven theological virtues, Jesus, his disciples, and papal coat of arms.

The basilica contains twelve chapels arranged in two rows, with the central chapel housing Saint Angelo d'Acri's remains in a sealed bronze and glass urn.

The church received its minor basilica status on July 21, 1980, and preserves the relics of Saint Angelo d'Acri, who was canonized in 2017.
