San Benedetto, Renaissance church in Ferrara, Italy.

The San Benedetto church features a design by architect Biagio Rossetti, with a bell tower added in 1621 to complete the religious complex.

Benedictine monks commissioned the construction between 1496 and 1553, relocating from Pomposa Abbey due to the spread of malaria in their previous location.

The church temporarily housed the remains of poet Ludovico Ariosto until 1801, when they were transferred to the Ariostea Library in Ferrara.

The religious site opens from Monday to Friday between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM, with free admission and facilities for visitors with reduced mobility.

After enduring damage from World War II bombings, fires in 2007, and an earthquake in 2012, the church reopened in 2019 following extensive restoration work.
