Monte Sant'Elia, Mountain peak in Palmi, Italy

Monte Sant'Elia rises 582 meters above sea level, standing prominently along the Calabrian coast with clear views extending across the Mediterranean Sea to Sicily.

The mountain has long served as a natural landmark for maritime navigation, guiding vessels through the Tyrrhenian Sea along the Costa Viola since ancient times.

Local residents maintain numerous walking paths across Monte Sant'Elia, preserving traditional routes that connect different parts of the Calabrian community.

Visitors can access the mountain via a 9.1-kilometer hiking trail that starts from the SS18 road, with parking available near the fenced holiday home.

The mountain's elevation provides a natural observation point where hikers can simultaneously view both the Tyrrhenian Sea and the distant outline of Mount Etna.
